The Moon Over Brunswick

The sky was grey and gold overlooking Crystal Spring Farms

On the last day that I drove by

We had a conversation over gelato

Because you were tired and overworked

Long hours in a field of berries

Blue eyes faded by the heat of summer

You’re a clock that doesn’t stop ticking

You said that it’s in your blood

That doesn’t mean it has to be fate

I stayed in touch with Griffin not because he is your brother

I care about him too

You’re strong and steady like a Pioneer on the move

I’ve thought of you every time I’ve touch my soundboard

It took me a long time to come to terms

I suppose that I’ll let you know

That you’re an inspiration

As to why I want to chase my dreams

Someday, we will meet again

Pleasant Hill

where the sunsets always stay
